I started running at the end of 2014. At that stage I could only run for 1 minute at the time and ran on my own in the dark as I was worried about seeing how useless I was.

I decided that I couldn’t do it alone and looked for local running clubs. I saw great comments about Lawley Running Club and thought it I either needs to join or give up completely. I was so nervous that first night walking over to a bunch of strangers. I need t have been worried. I was made to fee welcome and I haven’t looked back since

I love it so much I am now the Membership Secretary. My running has evolved beyond my wildest dreams. I have gone from that 1 minute run to now having completed numerous half marathons and full marathons. I now love to lead groups of various abilities but my favourite runs to lead are always the couch to 5k courses. There is nothing better than paying forward all the support and seeing the belief system of the runners change over the weeks of the course.
